At the ongoing preliminary investigation of murder before Magistrate Komba Kamanda of Court No.2 involving Captain Samuel Munda Momodu, second lieutenant Henry Lamin Sesay and second lieutenant Alhaji Borbor Sheriff, a detective sergeant 1513 Mohamed Dauda Kabba, yesterday disclosed that he charged the accused based on the death certificates given to him.
The matter was prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dunia, while Counsel G.B. Kanneh represented all the accused.
According to the witness, he was on duty Friday 28th February 2014 at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters, when Major A.M Thaimu and his team of personnel came with an enquiring case file together with the accused in respect of the alleged killing of a colleague soldier 18181320 Charles Amadu Williams for the offence of murder and further investigation.
The witness disclosed that with the assistant of Major Thaimu, he conveyed the remains of 18181320 Williams C.A. for post mortem examination which was conducted by the government pathologist Simeon Owiss Koroma at the Connaught Hospital Mortuary on Wednesday 5th March 2014, adding that a death certificate was handed over to him at the end of the post mortem examination.
He stated that on Thursday 6th March 2014, a combined team of police officer led by Staff Sergeant Koroma attached to the Military headquarters Benguema Barracks, visited the crime scene for further investigation, explaining Sergeant Major Samura, who headed the investigation team at Kabbah hall Benguema and visited the various sites within the Barracks and on the 13th March 2014, he charged the accused with the offence of murder based on the death certificate and investigations conducted.
The matter comes up on Monday 14t April 2014 for continuation
