Dr. Derek is one of the most famous medical Doctors from china working with the Sierra Leone China Friendship hospital as Orthopedics consultant. He has been working with the Chinese medical team in Sierra Leone for the past four months now. Dr. Derek is love by most of his patients if not all because he always makes himself available to his patients.
Love and willingness to work for his Sierra Leoneans patients has help motivate him to set a notice at the doorway of his office that say’s “If You Have Something Please Call Me Dr. Derek” with his personal number. He has been facing many challenges like sleepless night because of too many calls from different patients across the country but according to him, the sacrifice he made for his patients is base on the love for his job and for all his patients, improving the relationship between Sierra Leone and China is one of the focuses of Dr. Derek; in that case he is willing to work at anytime for his Sierra Leoneans patients.
Dr. Derek told Awoko Newspaper in an interview that he want his patients to connect with him if they need any professional medical guidance at anytime. According to him, some patients mostly have night attack and sometimes they need some professional medical guidance to help them pass the night in peace, “letting my personal number available to my patients have being helping a huge amount of patients to get professional medical guidance from me when they need it but they can’t make it to the hospital because of one or more reasons” said Dr. Derek.
The relationship with his patients has improved greatly because of making himself available at anytime for medical guidance. He is well known in and out of the hospital because of the love and respect he show to patients. China have been supporting Sierra Leone in it development processes for very long time and still continue to support the government in it development program because of the good relationship between China and Sierra Leone. The Sierra Leone China Friendship Hospital-Jui is one of the benefit Sierra Leoneans enjoy from the good relationship with China so Sierra Leoneans need to make good use of it said Dr. Derek in an interview with Awoko Newspaper. The Sierra Leone China Friendship hospital-Jui is expecting more medical drugs in December from China to help more Sierra Leoneans get better drugs to help improve their health conditions, it a call for Sierra Leoneans to rush and get better health care with more professional Doctors from China and good medical drugs from China.
