Former aspirant and now presidential campaign manager of the All People’s Congress (APC) John Bonoh Sisay said his task in the coming elections is to win the presidential race for his party and that he is going to do in the first round of voting.
He said after the convention in Makeni in October when he was not chosen to lead the party, he was disappointed so were his supporters, but because he is a Christian and believes that leadership comes from God he accepted the decision and made it very clear that there was not any good reason for him to leave the party that he has been a member for his entire life.
“Many people including the opposition parties were optimistic that some of us will jump ship, but one thing they never understood was that we are in a political institution that looks after their own properly. Since the convention my other colleagues we all contested for the same position we meet and discussed and we believe that the party is bigger than us and we must ensure we continue to work for the progress of the party and the development of Sierra Leone.”
John Sisay said he was chosen to be the manager of the presidential campaign team because the party knew he had built formidable structures when he was campaigning all over the country and it will be very easy to get the J4BS machinery working round the clock so that Dr Samura Kamara will emerge the president come 7th March, 2018.
“I am ready, I am fully charged and I will go to any length to make sure APC stay in power and continue the Agenda for Prosperity, which is the document that will deliver Sierra Leone from poverty. We are prepared and the time is now for us to come out and join the other parties in propagating our vision for this country.”
Publicity Secretary and deputy Minister of Information Cornelius Deveaux opined that the party is well grounded and very optimistic that choosing John Sisay as the presidential campaign manager was the best choice the party made and said when he was over radio 98.1 last Wednesday the entire nation knew that the APC is ready and they have quality brains to develop this country.
“All of the aspirants that wanted the hot seat are winners because they all knew before that fateful day in Makeni that only one of them will be chosen and they all agreed that the party is bigger than them and they will work with the eventual choice of the party to win the elections. This has been proven after our convention as they all united in one voice moved across the country to tell their supporters that the APC made the right choice and all of them should work together and support Dr Samura Kamara to victory.”
Secretary General of the party Alhaji Osman Yansaneh said he has been with all the aspirants and after the convention all the negative rumours were figment of imagination of those who wanted to see the downfall of APC. But they are all disappointed.
He said he has great confidence in John Bonoh Sisay and believes that before the party came to the conclusion of choosing him as the presidential campaign manager they have seen the vigour and determination in him to give the party State House again.
“I am happy that he has been chosen to lead our presidential campaign because he is very good at what he does and has been in the service delivery sector for a long time. He will deliver to us what we want with the help of all comrades so that we can continue in our development process in Sierra Leone.
