The former Member of Parliament (MP) of Constituency 069, in Bo district, Honourable Paran Umar Tarawally, has been appointed as the new Clerk of Parliament for the fifth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone, in a letter from
the Office of the President, dated 16 April 2018.
According to the Secretary to the President, Dennis K. Vandi, the letter is pursuant to the provision of Section 82 sub-section one of the Constitution of Sierra Leone 1991. It has pleased the President to appoint Hon. Paran U. Tarawally, as Clerk of Parliament with effect from the date of his assumption of duty.
It could be recalled that Hon. Tarawally was one of the most vibrant Members of Parliament representing the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in the previous forth parliament that was dissolved on the 7 December 2018. He failed to retain his SLPP symbol for the just concluded March 7 general elections.
