The normal proceedings at the Freetown Law Courts yesterday noon was forced to go into a hasty adjournment, as prisoners in the lockup went beserk and started splashing human faeces on the prison officers.
The timber matter was just about to be called for hearing at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 2, when a senior prisons officer rushed into the courtroom and requested the presiding Magistrate, Komba Kamanda to immediately adjourn the proceedings.
The emergency adjournment ignited cries of hundreds of sympathisers, including employees, parents, and friends of the Timber Tycoon, Allie Suma who was in court on three count charges related to Conspiracy and that of the NPA accused.
Dressed in White T-Shirt, Blue Jeans and Brown Slippers, the Timber Tycoon in a calm mood was escorted into the courtroom with prisons officers, but suddenly started crying, as he saw sympathisers weeping.
The emergency adjournment brought despair to sympathisers who were looking forward for their friend and employer to be granted bail.
The matter was adjourned to Monday, April 23, 2014.
