The Paramount Chief of Tambakha Chiefdom in Bombali district North of Sierra Leone, PC Kandeh Sorie Kakando III has called for God’s intervention regarding the social development of his chiefdom.
He told Awoko in an exclusive interview that there is nothing his chiefdom and people can boast of as haven done by government in the chiefdom. He said his chiefdom lacks good roads, education facilities, health care facilities and safe drinking water.
In an exclusive interview with Awoko Newspaper at his Samaya village after his 22nd May 2014 victory as Paramount Chief, PC Kandeh Sorie Kakando III said his chiefdom is one of the biggest in the country but has no approved government schools, only one peripheral health unit for the over populated chiefdom, poor road network, non-availability of safe drinking water among others.
The Chief said since the days of his father, chiefdom authorities have chased government officials wherever to draw their attentions to their plight but to no avail. He said the entire chiefdom can boasts of only two PHUs one at Fintonia and the other at Samaya some 35 miles from Kanka town, the chiefdom headquarter. He described the health situation in his chiefdom as “appalling”.
