Bishop Abu Koroma of Flaming Evangelist Ministry yesterday 2nd February 2016 donated food items and learning equipment to the School for the Deaf and Blind in their various compounds at Wilkinson Road in Freetown.
Bishop Koroma said they as a Ministry deemed it fit to present food items and learning equipment to the needy and less fortunate and his Ministry is very happy to donate such items to the schools.
He added that the chairs and tables that he was donating to the schools are a goodwill they received from Mr Tungie Lightfoot Taylor from London and they paid over fifty million Leones (Le50m) for the shipping cost.
Mr Tungie Lightfoot Taylor, in his statement, said that the blind school has been part of his ambition and that the tables and chairs were given to him by Gibson Hill Primary School in London. He presented one million five hundred thousand Leones to each school and also promised to give computers, projector and white board to the school of the deaf
Mr Taylor also said that he only need appreciation from any institution or organisation that he is helping.
A member of the committee of the management of the school for the blind, Mr Meux, in his statement, said that he is deeply impressed and the demonstration of Flaming Bible Church can touch peoples’ lives and express the hope that other people and organisations will emulate such venture. He thanked the ministry for the donation
The Deputy Minister, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Mustapha Bai Attila, in his statement, recalled that Bishop Abu Koroma used to teach them about the bible when he was a pupil at the school and that it was not the first time Bishop Abu was making such donation.
The minister also said that Bishop Koroma has been helping individuals and organisations all over the country and said “God must use you as a vessel and Bishop Koroma is been used by God”.
The deputy minister said the president is determined to see disable people enjoy the same right other people are enjoying, but, according to the deputy minister, the problem lies with the judiciary.
The deputy minister thanked the flaming evangelist ministry on behalf of the government and his ministry for their timely donation.
The Chairman of the occasion, Mr Malcolm, who is son of the blind school said he is part of Faming ministry and this is not the first time his Ministry has been making such donation and thanked the entire flaming family for their support.
Among the items they donated were bags of rice, onions, tables, shelves and other cooking items.
Principals of both schools thanked the Flaming Evangelist Ministry and called on other philanthropists to come and help the two schools as flaming has done.
