CRSGChina Railway Seventh Group (CRSG) has constructed a Primary School for the Police Community in Jui and have handed it over to the Inspector General of Police Francis Munu in a ceremony that was held yesterday and graced by the Minister of Works Kemoh Sesay and the acting Chinese Ambassador Wang Yi Ming.
In his statement, the Minister of Works Kemoh Sesay said he was very happy that the Chinese thought it fit to help the Police with a brand new school that will enhance the education of the children in and around the community.
He called on the Police to make sure they provide security at all times and keep the building secured and protected at all times. “For you the Teachers, the learning environment is now conducive to teach and make sure the children are well educated to be future leaders in society.”
The Minister averred that the children must go to school always because there is no excuse now to give, “The school is right inside your community and you must at all time be present in school to make sure you are taught.”
He called on the parents to send their children now to school and stop giving excuses because the school is within their vicinity and they will always monitor the children and keep them in check.
Minister Kemoh Sesay said CRSG deemed it fit to build the school because education is part of prosperity and it is part of the President’s recovery plan in the next 24 months. So they believe that CRSG indeed wants Sierra Leone to prosper.
The acting Chinese Ambassador Wang Yi Ming said what CRSG has done is commendable and they too are happy that they are working to help make Sierra Leone a better place.
Chancellor Wang said last week the country celebrated the Day of the African Child and today CRSG has given a good present to the people of Jui Barracks, a good school that will produce the new Inspector General of Police, Ministers and other government dignitaries in the future.
The Chancellor said CRSG has just rented a piece of land to the Police to build a ware house and in turn, they decided to help the community with a Primary School that will be around for a long time.
“I want to commend the CRSG because they are showing that they are not in Sierra Leone to do business but also to improve the country through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which is why they have built this school and I hope they will do more in the future.”
IG Francis Munu said they have a very good relationship with CRSG as they are now providing full security for them all over the country and they have just provided them a piece of land within the Jui Barracks, which he said led to CRSG building the school for them.
He called on them not to relent in their duty in Sierra Leone and they hope they will receive more help from them in the future. “We are very happy for this school and I want to assure Mr Minister that we will protect it, and keep it clean at all times. We would make sure that the purpose it was built for will be fully utilised and our children will benefit from it for a long time to come.
Other speakers included the Ministry of Education, Sierra Leone Roads Authority, the Councillor and representative from the Chairman of the Western Rural District Council. All of them reiterated the point to keep the school clean, protected and urged CRSG to consider other areas for development projects.
Minister Kemoh Sesay then performed the rite by cutting the tape to one of the classroom and the keys were then handed over to him by CRSG.
