On Tuesday 31 January 2017, at Black Hall Road, in Freetown, Adamsay Jalloh allegedly dumped her new born baby boy into a toilet intending to kill him. The baby was removed and taken to the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital for treatment.
The accused was arrested and charged with the offence of Child Cruelty, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Cap 31. According to the police, Jalloh assaulted the baby in a manner likely to cause him unnecessary suffering. Jalloh has been in custody since 27 March 2017.
On Tuesday 23 May, Jalloh was granted Le40 million bail after eight Court appearances and adjournments. No evidence has been led against her in Court. Jalloh has no legal representation.
