Witness Thomas Bangura has testified that the accused Francess Kargbo slapped her husband the complainant Vladimir Stakonou and happened to damage his glasses.
Bangura said on the 19th May 2016 while he was up stairs at the office working, he heard an argument from the down floor, which prompted him to come down, where he met the complainant with his wife in a bitter argument, and the complainant told him to sit by him, because the behaviour of his wife seems to confuse him.
“The accused slapped the complainant on his face, damaging his eye glasses, and blood began to run down some part of his face while we were sitting with the accused’s mother.”
He added that the accused told him to take away his child as he did not want him to take notice of what is going on.
Bangura continued that a family support unit officer came and took away the complainant, and he had to make a statement at the Aberdeen police station.
The accused was charged with one count of domestic violence contrary to section 2 (1) of the domestic violence act 2007 and the particulars of offence stated that the accused on Thursday 19th May 2016 at No.13 Nylander Street Aberdeen in Freetown physically abused Vladimir Stakonou with whom she is in domestic relationship with. The matter was to Wednesday 3rd August 2016.
The witness made such statement while testifying at the Freetown Magistrate court No.2 in front of Magistrate Albert Moody on Friday.
