Police prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) ,Raymond Dunia yesterday objected to bail on the alleged twenty five million Leones (Le25, 000.000) fraud case involving Ibrahim Kamara alias Yakuba Bah who was arraigned before Magistrate Binneh Kamara of Magistrate Court No. 1.
While he was responding to bail application by defence counsel, the prosecutor said “A bail should not be given to the accused because there was evidence that the accused might jump the bail, and that the court should look into the seriousness of the offence, and there was likelihood for repetition of such offence if a bail is granted to the accused”.
The defence counsel had earlier applied for bail on the grounds that the law permits that such offence be given bail, adding that the reasons given by the prosecutor are not strong to support his claims, according to law.
As proceedings continued on the matter that involved Ibrahim Kamara alias Yakuba Bah, who between 29th to 31st July 2015 conspired with others unknown persons to defraud Mohamed Kamara the sum of twenty five million Leones (Le 25,000,000) by making false pretence that he was an employee of Queen Elizabeth 11 quay and that he has one Toyota RAV4 jeep for sale, knowing the same to be false, Fourth prosecution witness (pw4) testified that he did three thousand United States Dollar (US$3,000) transaction with the second prosecutor witness (PW2) and the accused.
The accused was charged with four counts among the different charges including conspiracy to defraud which is contrary to the law, obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to section 32 (1)(c) of the larceny  act, and forgery.
The matter was adjourned to Friday 29th January 2016.
