As the matter continues on the alleged fraud of the sum of ninety-three million Leones worth of airtel and Aricell electronics voucher, magistrate Binneh Kamara on Monday sent the accused Abubakarr Kamara to the male correctional centre.
The accused who is tried with the offence of embezzlement was not represented by any legal counsel and therefore the police prosecutor did not approve that the court grant him bail.
In his submission to the court, police prosecutor A.S Kamara refused the bail of the accused stating that the alleged case is very serious and that the accused is a flight risk.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused Abubakarr Kamara on 30th April 2016 embezzled the sum of five-five million and thirty-eight million Leones worth of Airtel and Africell electronic vouchers respectively received on the account of one James Mansaray.
James Mansaray , first prosecuting witness in his testimony informed the court that the accused is a business associate whom over the years he does business with stating that the accused has refused to make payment in respect of the last transaction after several engagements before his arrest.
The matter will come up on the 11th July, 2016.
