On April 2011, Unisa Ibrahim Jalloh was accused of stealing Le196 million worth of fuel from Total Oil Company Sierra Leone Limited from their outlet in Aberdeen. The accused was charged with Fraudulent Conversion by the Sierra Leone Police.
On Monday 25 June 2018, the accused appeared before Justice Reginald Fynn of the High Court of Freetown on Siaka Stevens Street. The accused had been granted Le200 million bail but failed to meet the bail conditions.
Jalloh, who was living in Waterloo, noted, “None of my family members came forward to fulfill the bail conditions in order for me to get out of the Correctional Centre.”
After listening to the accused, Justice Reginald Fynn, on Monday 18 June 2018, reviewed the bail condition of the accused. He said, “I will give you bail of Le100 million. And, you must hand over all travelling documents and must report everyday at the Criminal Investigation Department.”
The accused was still remanded at the Male Correctional Centre, as no one came forward to attest on his behalf.
According to Justice Fynn, “You have been in dentition for a while now and the crime they alleged that you committed is a very serious one.” The accused was represented by C. Tucker of the Legal Aid Board. The matter was adjourned to Monday 2 July 2018.
