Sierra Leone News: 29 Year old rapes 5 Year Old in Lungi

On, 24th September 2019, Police Detective, Isshaka Santigi Kamara testified at the Pademba Rd Magistrate Court No.3 that William Kabba, a 29 year old man on September 29th, 2018 sexually penetrated a five year old girl at Port Loko Road, Rotifunk Village, Lungi, in the Kaffu Bullum Chiefdom, Port Loko District. The offence is Contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act No.12 of 2012 and the case is being prosecuted by Sergeant M. Lahai The accused denied the allegations and said that, he never penetrated the victim. He also said that, he had told the Police that he had met the victim already raped and that he had just volunteered in taking her to the Police station himself out of humanitarian feeling. The detective on the other hand agreed that indeed the accused had said the same during investigations but however without any proof.

Before these testimonies, the victim was brought to the same Court on Monday September 16th, 2019 to testify and she told the Court that she knows the accused and that he was the one who sexually penetrated her. She also testified that, she was at home with her Aunt when the accused quietly came for her and took her to a nearby two story building house. After taking her there, the victim said that, the accused placed her on the ground, muzzled her mouth and forcefully penetrated her. She also testified that, the accused took her to the Police station, after he finished penetrating her. The matter has been adjourned to September 27th, 2019.
