Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Sierra Leone’s esteemed footballer, Musa Tombo Kamara, announced his unwavering commitment to represent his country during a meeting with the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her Bishop House office in Freetown.
Expressing his determination, Musa stated, “This is 2024, I have made up my mind and also devoted myself to play for my country.”
Grateful for the opportunity, Kamara acknowledged, “Thanks to Allah, I am now an officially registered player for Ports Authority FC, and thanks to the Water Front Boys officials for rescuing me. I am now a happy player. May God bless them for a job well done.”
Madam Minister warmly welcomed Kamara and commended him for his visit. She expressed her gratitude and said, “I still have the ambition and confidence within myself that I can make the difference with your positive advice and support towards me as a mother.”
In response, Madam Minister assured Kamara of her continuous support and encouragement. “I will do my best together with my colleagues in the national team. We will do our best to qualify Leone Stars for the 2025 AFCON tournament and the 2026 World Cup. I have put all negative things and thoughts aside, and I am now focused on delivering,” Kamara affirmed.
Madam Minister, treating Kamara as her son, encouraged him, saying, “Now that you have made up your mind, God will surely see you through. With my advice to you as your spiritual mother, you will surely succeed and regain your past glory in the game of football once more.”
She concluded by assuring Kamara of her continuous support, “I will continue to pray for you in my daily devotional prayers because prayers can change things. Musa, my office doors are always open to you; don’t be afraid to inform or call me whenever you are faced with problems. Thanks for your visit. God bless you, my son.”
Sierra Leoneans are optimistic about Kamara’s renewed commitment, hoping for a successful journey with the national team in the upcoming tournaments. BT/14/1/2023
