Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – The Sierra Leone national dodgeball team showcased exceptional resilience and determination in their first two matches at the Dodgeball Champions tournament, despite facing challenging opponents in Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire.
Although victories eluded them in the initial encounters, the team left a lasting impression with their unwavering spirit and newfound confidence. Coach Umaru George expressed pride in his team’s performance, emphasizing their exceptional determination and fighting spirit.
“We are proud of the way our team played,” Coach George stated. “They showed great heart and never gave up.”
Player Ibrahim Sheriff Savage echoed the coach’s sentiments, highlighting the team’s belief in their abilities. “I am so proud of my team,” Savage declared. “We played our hearts out, and I am confident that we can win our next game.”
Mariama Arunatu Yillah, another team member, emphasized the unity and shared vision within the team. “We are a team, and we will always fight for each other,” she asserted.
