Sierra Leone defender agrees to HIFK contract extension.

HIFK Football Club has confirmed they will use the option in Sesay’s contract to extend until the end of 2020. The 2018 Ykkönen Champions signed the former FC Lahti and Sierra Leone defender on a one-year deal in January with an option to extend. Sesay has been pivotal in the division with a total of 221 matches in the Veikkausliiga, the last 15 of which he has played for The Reds. “The versatile Sesay has generally enjoyed himself as a left-winger but has also been able to play a more offensive role,” the club said in a statement.

“Sesay has been on the IFK regular lineup this past season and has played full minutes in 15 matches, scoring one goal. Besides, his impressive performance was also noticed outside the club when he was selected to the Veikkausliiga team of the month in June.” Sesay, 31, before moving to HIFK played over 125 matches with FC Lahti.
