Sierra Leone: CSE Workers steal Sierratel cables
Two CSE workers are now chatting with the Police over the theft of Sierratel cables at Wilberforce recently. The incident occurred while the road workers were in the process of digging up drainage at Freetown Road Wilberforce and they also dug up the copper cables which had been used for landline communication. On receiving the information, Sierratel workers went to the scene at the time the CSE workers had already cut the cables and put them into their vehicles. While some of the workers ran away, two of them were apprehended and handed over to the police. It was later discovered that the workers had cut all the cables from King Street up to a long stretch of Freetown Road past Regimanuel Grey office going up the road. Meanwhile, Sierratel workers have now started removing the remaining cables along that stretch of Freetown Road until they are needed.
