Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In a bid to recognize and reward commitment and dedication, Sierra Leone Brewery Limited (SLBL) honored ten of its exemplary employees with medals of merit, certificates, and monetary gifts during a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Wellington, Freetown, on December 14th, 2023.
Humu M. Kamara, a seasoned employee of SLBL, shed light on the significance of the Annual Long Service Award, describing it as an entrenched tradition within the company. Kamara emphasized SL Brewery Limited’s unwavering commitment to valuing its employees, considering them integral to the company’s success.
The awardees, carefully selected from four of the Company’s six departments, were recognized for their dedicated service spanning 10, 15, and 20 years, exhibiting outstanding commitment and contribution to the organization. “The longer one serves in the company, the more they embody a sense of belonging and ownership,” highlighted Madam Kamara.
She stressed the ceremony’s positive impact on staff morale and motivation, underscoring the value of such recognition within the workplace.
Yvonne Bestman, one of the honored employees for her decade-long service, expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating that the award served as a motivation to further excel in her role. Bestman attributed her exceptional performance to the passion she holds for her work. “My dedication to this job has made this day possible,” she shared.
Echoing a similar sentiment, Claudius Kandeh, recognized for his decade-long commitment in the Sales Department, reiterated the importance of passion in sustaining his lengthy tenure within the company.
