Division 2 side Sierra FC in preparation for the Western Area Football Association Division 2 League played their first friendly match this year at Angola Town field, winning 3-2.
Mohamed Kanu scored the first goal in the first minute of play, but FC Kallon leveled after 10 minutes.
Sierra FC continued their offensive play and got their second goal through Sylvanus Wright from a header after receiving a pass from Morlai Armankey Kargbo from the right-hand side.
The host again did not disappoint as they were able to level the score in the 50th minute of play sending the match into a frenzy with both teams in search of the winning goal.
The fireworks of the second half saw Sierra FC taking the lead again in the 85th minute through Alusine Sesay’s goal to secure all three points by winning their first match of 2021.
The FC Kallon side was made of Premier League and Division 1 players.
Coach Francis Amara said he was happy with both teams’ performances as the opponent was up to the task, adding that they are looking forward to the next friendly match which is part of their preparation for the Division 2 League.
