18 year old mechanic Alpha Momoh of 5 Supui Street in Kenema has seen his case committed to the High Court in Kenema when he made his last appearance in the Kenema Magistrate Court before Presiding Magistrate Joseph Tobi on one court charge of sexual penetration of a child contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act no. 9 of 2012 as amended by Section 4 (III) of the Sexual Offences Act no. 8 of 2019. Particulars of the offence stated that Momoh on Saturday 13th June 2020 at Playing Field IDA section, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District engaged in an act of sexual penetration with a girl under the age of 18, to wit, 12 years old.
The accused was granted Le50 million bail with two sureties having proof of ID and residents of the court’s jurisdiction, who are to be approved by the court. Police Constable 15364 Vonja Thomas from the Legal Justice and Support Department of the Kenema Police Division prosecuted the matter.
