Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met on Wednesday with a delegation of the All People’s Congress party (APC) from Sierra Leone.
The delegation, headed by Birch Momodu Conte, the national chairman of the APC, was in China at the invitation of the CPC from March 27 to April 3.
During the meeting, Liu said the Chinese government attaches great importance to developing its friendly and cooperative ties with African countries including Sierra Leone, adding that the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2006 pushed the China-Africa ties to a new stage.
Liu, also a member of both the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee said the APC enjoys long history and has significant influence, noting that under the leadership of Sierra Leone President Ernest Bai Koroma, the African country will score great achievements in economic and social fields. Conte expressed his thanks for China’s friendly policy towards Africa and stressed that both the government of Sierra Leone and the APC have always considered that both Taiwan and Tibet are parts of China and adhered to one-China policy unswervingly
