The outgoing Executive Representative of the United Nations Secretary General (ERSG) Michael von Schulenberg has admonished the executive of the Guild of Newspaper Editors to ensure that “peace” reigns in Sierra Leone.
The ERSG spoke to a small section of the executive of The Guild of Newspaper Editors on Monday who had gone to his Cabinda Hotel residence to present a parting gift in appreciation of his support to the media just before he left the country.
In his parting words after all the pleasantries and the presentation of a traditional Sierra Leonean half gown and hat and an inscribed board with a message of appreciation, the ERSG said “remember in anything you do the country must be at peace and the people come first.”
The journalists acknowledged the advice and wished him well in his future endeavours.
