All roads will be leading to the Kingtom oval this morning to witness the school cricket competition which is expected to start today between the defending champions Albert Academy and Government Kingtom Secondary school. This is the first match in the competition.
In the second match Prince of Wales Secondary School was expected to battle with St Edwards secondary school but the match has been cancelled as St Edwards secondary school would not take part in the competition.
The competition will continue on Wednesday between Ahmadiyya Secondary school in the East and the Sierra Leone Grammar School in the West while in the second match of the day Government Secondary Technical School will engage Government Model Secondary school in a match that is expected to be thrilling and exciting.
On Friday Albert Academy will lock horns with Government Rokel Secondary School in their second match in the competition
Speaking to Awoko Sports about the competition the Public Relation Officer of the association Alieu Bockarie said that this year school cricket competition will be one of the best as the executive has put everything in place to make this year’s competition a success.
He also mentioned that about 20 matches are scheduled to be played in the first phase of the competition but because of the withdrawal of St Edward secondary school only 16 matches will be played in the first phase.
