One of Sierra Leone most outstanding sports journalist that this country can boast of currently Samuel John has declared his intention about two months some days to the election to stand for the Presidency of the Sierra Leone Sports writers Association (SWASLA)
Speaking about his intention he said that over the past couple of year’s young sports journalists have come on board with a lot of energy but they need some body with a lot of experience to guard them that his why he his running for the presidency.
He also mentioned that his presidency will prove a leadership that will protect those young journalists as they are the feature leader of sports in the country
He also mentioned that his leadership will also prove courses to these young sports journalists so that they will be able to report other sporting disciplines apart of football.
He also states that he will ensured that these young journalists has the right protection under his leadership
The veteran sports journalists is on record to have covered three Olympic Games a feast that none have achieved in the country and indicated that with his experience the vast majority of membership would benefit.
“My primary concern is not only to review sports journalisms, but to allow them to speak the language of sports in the various disciplines”, he opined.
In another development the Sierra Leone Sports Writers Association Southern and Eastern Regional has appointed an interim executive that will run the association until election are held
For the Southern Regional executive we have Bash Kay as chairman, Alhaji Komba as Sec, General and Mohamed Bah as org/sec/financial Sec.
In the Eastern Regional interim executive we have Sallieu P Bangura as chairman, James Jamil Fatorma Sec, General and Abdul Karim Org-Sec/Finincial Sec.
