The branch Manager of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) in Kenema city Lansana Sawie has disclosed to the press in Kenema that the water delivery system in Kenema city is relatively improving due to the effort of the company in recent months.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the wastage of valuable water and the warranted destruction of the water pipes by the residents of the nation’s communities in Kenema city. Mr.Sawie revealed that SALWACO is planning to educate consumers in the city to build water tanks or mini reservoirs to enable them to conserve water for their use.
In her statement the Administrative officer SALWACO Mrs. Marie Manseray Gegbah disclosed that the current management and the new Board of Directors of SALWACO are working assiduously to make sure that residents of Kenema city get the pure water they need at all times. She said the management is in consultation with top engineers in the company to train more personnel’s to serve the people of Kenema city and its environs, adding that the water rate in the Kenema area will remain affordable to all and sundry as water is life.
