Before the final day of the competition the Sierra Leone team was focused and able to perform up to standard as they were able to receive their allowances which gave them extra power to win most of their bouts during the last days that saw them winning the competition.
Speaking to Awoko Sports the chairman of the technical committee in the boxing association, Lumpric Sisay said the three-day competition was a success as the Sierra Leone boxing team were able to win the competition as the host country.
He mentioned that the boxers were now looking for a bigger competition to participant in which they would bring more laurels to this nation.
Sisay said the boxers were going to have at least two weeks’ rest before they could continue their training for feature competition.
He disclosed that even though they were able to organise the competition as the host country they went through some financially constraints.
He noted that the training aspect was very good though it was short and that the visitors were very sportive as they showed maturity throughout the competition.
