The Sierra Leone U-19 cricket team will start their World Cup qualification match in Zambia against a world class Kenya Cricket team on Independence Day.
The team who were in South Africa undergoing a week training will depart for South Africa tomorrow in preparation for their match
Speaking to Awoko Sports from South Africa the national coach Cycil Panda said that the boys have learned some more technical skills which will help them in the competition in Zambia.
He also disclosed that he was happy for the facilities that were provided for the players during the training these facilities too will be used in Zambia which will not be strange to the boys and will be advantage to them.
Coach Panda said that they are not going to the competition as under dogs because this team is now know in the world for cricket for their performance in Mozambique were they won the trophy that qualified them for Zambia.
He mentioned that some of the countries will be playing against them for the first time in any international cricket.
In another development the Sierra Leone U-13 cricket team will play Cameroon in their final match tomorrow in Ghana in the on going U-13 competition
A win for the Sierra Leone side will give them about 90 percent chances of winning the competition even though they started the competition on a bad footing against the Gambia team.
They were able to come back to the competition after defeating two of the favourites that were expecting to win the competition the host Ghana and Nigeria.
