The Sierra Leone retired heroes will host the Heroes competition this month starting on the 20th and ends on April 27th Independence Day.
This was disclosed by a member of the foundation Joseph Toby who stated that last year they were able to participate in the competition which was hosted in The Gambia by the Heros of Gambian
He further stated that during the competition they held a meeting in Gambia which the Director of Sports Bai Kabia represented them in the meeting.
During the meeting it was decided the next host country of the competition was Sierra Leone.
Toby stated that the event is going to be an annual event and with all the countries in Zone II coming together to participate in the competition with every country having the chance to host it.
Toby also mentioned that any country that is hosting the competition has to have the presidency but the Secretariat is in Banjul the Gambia.
Toby also mentioned that four countries will be joining Sierra Leone to participate in this year’s competition and they are Mali, Senegal, Guinea and the Gambia
He also stated that during their stay in Freetown they are going to take full control of their accommodation and feeding and also mentioned that President Ernest Koroma will be the Chief Sponsor of the competition as they are going to name the trophy Ernest Koroma trophy.
