In the recent International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings, Sierra Leone National Female Cricket senior team has been ranked sixth in Africa.
They were ranked from the first tournament that was hosted last year in Uganda, were Sierra Leone participated with five other countries.
It was during this tournament that they were able to rank Sierra Leone and the rest of the other countries.
The other countries who were ranked above Sierra Leone are Uganda, Tanzania, Nambia, Kenya, and Nigeria.
Commenting on the ranking, the Chief Executive Officer(CSO) of the association, Francis Samura said that they hope that Sierra Leone will improve in their rankings after their second international outing, as the team is hoping to improve.
In another related development ICC Global ranking 10 countries have carried T20 status; they are Australia, New Zealand,India,West Indies,England,Pakistan,South Africa,Sri Lanka,Bangladesh and Ireland.
