Sierra Leone Judo Association headed by Idriss Massaquoi, may benefit from an initial two-year partnership agreement signed by the United Nations (UN) and the International Judo Federation (IJF).
The partnership was signed in Abu Dhabi on the sidelines of the Judo Grand Prix, Abu Dhabi 2012, by the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Sports for Development and Peace,Wilfried Lemke and the IJF President, Marius L. Vizer.

The International Judo Federation is a non-political organization. It has 200 affiliated National Federations in all five continents that are going to benefit directly of which the Sierra Leone Judo Federation is one of them. With over 20 million people practicing judo, a sport, that perfectly unites education and physical activity, this is a major breakthrough.
Judo was created by Jigoro Kano, in Japan, in 1882 and the International Judo Federation celebrated its 60th birthday in 2011.
