Sierra Leone has dropped nine places down from 64 to 73 in the latest world football governing body, FIFA ranking which was released this month.
The team’s considerable drop in the ranking was linked to the recent 2-1 defeat suffered in the hands of a low rated Sao Tome and Principe in the first leg of the 2013 CAF Nations Cup qualifier when they lost by two goals to one(2-1).
According to the FIFA release, Sierra Leone is below some of the countries the country has beaten because they were able to win their various matches played in the qualifying first leg.
