The delegation will comprise of the two unqualified athletes: One male, Solomon Bayoh, and one female, Michaela Kargbo.
They will be accompanied by two coaches, Pamela Williams and Jimmy Wright, with two youth campers, Holima Kargbo and Kolawole Cole.
The deputy director of sports, Alphan Coker, is a guest of the minister of Education Youth and Sports. Jestina Jones is a guest of the NOC President, but she is responsible for everything to the games, like airfare and accommodation.
Doctor Patrick Coker and Media Officer Unisa Din Kargbo round up the delegation.
The delegation will travel on Kenya airways and fly through Accra, Nairobi, Dubai on their way to China.
The two athletes will be competing on August 15. Coach Jimmy Wright said they have prepared both athletes for the game and Sierra Leoneans should expect much of them as they are going to compete against world-class athletes.
“They are going to the games to have some exposure and try to build on those exposure,” he said. Michaela Kargbo will additionally take part in Junior competition some months later in India, where they are expecting her to excel.
As for the Olympic Games, the Sierra Leone Government gave the sum of 65 million Leones for allowances to the delegation.
The president of National Olympic Committee, Henry Moore, and Secretary General David Woobay will depart later for the games.
