Salone Cricket U-19 team to play in Mozambique

The Sierra Leone cricket U-19 team will represent the country in Mozambique in the U-19 International qualifiers tournament for the U-17 World Cup in cricket.
This was disclosed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the association Bockarie Alieu. He also mentioned that six countries will participate in the competition including the host Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Ghana, Swaziland, and Rwanda,
Alieu also states that all the teams are supposed to arrive in Mozambique on the 27th February 2009 and they are expected to depart on 7th March 2009.
He said that for this all important competition the association has organized a series of trials to select the team and so far two trials have been done.
In another development the school competition is still in progress, and Ahmadiyya defeated Sierra Leone Grammar School by 76 runs in the first match. During the match Ahmadiyya was the first to take the crease they made 126 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, with Samuel Kamara making the highest run of 35, followed by K Kamara with 20 runs while L Tengbeh made 11 runs not out.
Bowling for the Sierra Leone Grammar school was S. Barlatt who in 4 overs, got 22 runs and 5 wickets. When the Sierra Leone Grammar school took the crease they replied with 50 all out in 15.3 overs with A Kamara making the highest run of 10.
In the second match Government Secondary Technical School defeated Government Model Secondary school by 8 wickets
The competition will continue today between Government Rokel Secondary and Albert Academy.
