Referees appoint Dr Patrick Coker and Abdul Rahman Swaray as honorary members
Abdul Rahman Swaray Deputy Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and Dr Patrick Coker President National Olympic Committee were appointed as honorary members of the Sierra Leone National Football Referees Organization (SLNFRO) on Saturday 11th September 2021 in Makeni after the organizations elective congress.
During the congress Dr Patrick Coker, the President National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOC-SLE) chairing the first session of the delegates conference stated that the NOC is fully aware of the fact that the Sierra Leone National Football Referees Organization is a section of the Sierra Leone Football Association, but assured them of the NOC’s support whenever they are faced with administrative and any other challenges.
Alhaji Sanusie Rashid, a current CAF Referee Assessor and Instructor who has also served as a FIFA referee went unopposed for the position of President. He will be assisted by the five regional Vice Presidents. Other executive members include Franklyn A.F Marah-Secretary General, Alie Gibril Koroma-Social Secretary, Elizabeth French-Treasurer, Zainab Agnes Wilson-Financial Secretary, and Alhaji Abdul Rahim Sanusi-Media Public Relations Officer they will serve for four years.
The elected President Alhaji Sanusie Rashid explained his new undertaking was due to the result of his hard work over the years which make certain progress in the organization noting that the welfare of the referees, capacity building training, are all part of his agenda.
He went further to appeal for collaborative support from the referees across the country and with their support they will be able to transform the organization to a desirable career.
In his brief statement, the outgoing President, Alhaji M.A Sesay who was also nominated as the Chief Patron of the organization pledged to provide his expertise whenever he is contacted and most especially in his new capacity as Chief Patron of the organization.
