Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In the ongoing Sierra Leone Premier league Real Republicans continued their good run when they defeated Kamboi Eagles FC by a goal to nil (1-0) and secured back-to-back Premier League wins on Sunday, January 8th, 2023, on the Angola playing field.
In the 23rd minute, Dennis Kamara separated both teams with the only goal of the match. Before defeating Kamboi Eagles FC another provincial Wusum Stars FC suffered at the hands of Real Republicans to secure a first win in the league.
The Chairman of Real Republicans Football Club Alhaji Umar Bah stated their back-to-back win is vital as it has built confidence for their remaining twenty-seven league matches “The back-to-back victory builds our confidence for matches left. Our main target now is to make sure that we remain in the first half of the table” he stated.
He added that the victory against Wusum Stars FC and Kamboi Eagles FC is a huge optimism for their next match which will be against Luawa FC.
Real Republicans Football Club has now registered nine points out of 7 matches played registering two wins, two draws, three defeats, scoring six goals, and conceding seven goals out of seven matches played. The goal scorer Dennis Kamara won the ‘Man of the Match award.
The league is expected to continue on Thursday 12th January 2023. In the other match played on Monday 9th January 2023 Luawa FC defeated Old Edwardians by a goal to nil (1-0). BT/11/1/2023
