A middle-aged man Sampha Koroma of 11 OIC Road in Makeni has died following a bungled surgical operation by a quack doctor of the same address.
According to the crime officer attached to the Rogbane police station in Makeni, NAME the deceased’s scrotum was oozing with blood from cuts and stitches when discovered.
After a search of the crime scene the police discovered surgical instruments, medicines, pictures from past surgical operations and three other patients that were already waiting to be operated on.
The crime officer told our correspondent that the suspect had been at large but later resurfaced at the Rogbane Police station where he is helping the police with their investigations.
According to police sources, on 30th April the quack doctor, Ibrahim Koroma allegedly performed a surgical operation on the deceased and he died shortly afterward. One Sampha Koroma is quoted by the police as saying that he was next in line to be operated on for hernia and that he had already paid Le 200,000 to the suspect.
The suspect, Ibrahim Koroma told Awoko that he had been conducting surgery since 1977. He said he had no medical background but claimed to have had the gift from God.
Meanwhile a postmortem has been conducted on the deceased.
