Pupils from various schools especially those from the Eastern part of the city on Monday converged at the Patton Street car park to demand that drivers reach the destinations printed on their vehicles.
The drivers had been flouting a law by the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, Passengers Welfare and the Drivers Union to ease transportation especially in the Eastern part of the city.
According to the law vehicles which are supposed to ply the Wellington, Calaba Town, Grafton routes are to do so throughout the day but they often refuse to do so especially during the morning and evening rush hours. They prefer to ply the PWD, Brima Lane and Old Road routes causing discomfort to hundreds of passengers especially workers, school children, traders and suckling mothers.
Several passengers joined the students in their call on the Drivers Union, Police and Attitudinal and Behavioral Change to see how this issue can be resolved amicably
