After they led three witnesses in the ongoing preliminary investigation into allegations of financial fraud of over $1 million at the United Bank of Africa (UBA), prosecuting counsel has on Thursday 26th November 2020 closed their case. Police alleged that accused person Alice Cooper engaged in financial impropriety involving $1,049,075 at the UBA headquarters on Charlotte Street in Freetown by Touch of Fame F-Z trading in the United States.
Cooper was arraigned before Magistrate Mark Ngegba at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 2 on Pademba Road in Freetown. Police prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Hawa Bah disclosed that they have closed their case, noting that it was up to the defence to open their case.
Magistrate Mark Ngegba adjourned the matter to 1st December 2020 for the defence to open. The accused is on bail. SKS/27/11/2020
