Quite a good number of passengers, who were to travel with SM Brussels airlines including Pikin Bizness’ cardiac patient, on Tuesday missed their flight as a result of the arrival of President Ernest Bai Koroma from Ghana.
According to the Manager of MV Scarces, Alusine Daramy, there was only one ferry operational, adding that the other ferry was grounded as a result of mechanical failure.
He disclosed that the 2:30pm ferry schedule was obstructed due to the arrival of the President as the MV Scarces was the only ferry operational, noting that obviously the ferry had to wait on the president.
Passengers, who had waited hours for the ferry, finally boarded few hours later, arriving with the president.
Asked why they failed to communicate with the airlines, Mr Daramy said the ferry management and the airlines did not have such relationship.
When the ferry arrived at Targrin and passengers rushed their way to the Freetown International Airport they were shocked to discovery that the SN Brussels office at the airport was closed and that the airlines had already checked- in.
The frustrated passengers tried to forward their concerns that it was not their fault and that they should check them in, but noting was done absolutely.
