President Koroma will on Monday open a 1.5m Euros Holy Spirit hospital at Masuba in Makeni. The hospital is being built by the Italian Sierra Leone Cooperation.
Head of the Italian Cooperation in Sierra Leone, Arturo Rollo, said 70% of the fund was provided by the Italian cooperation while the remaining was provided by Ong Don- Gnocco and Caritas.
Mr Rollo noted that the hospital had a rehabilitation department and a microsurgery unit which would benefit amputees nationwide.
The head of the Italian Cooperation maintained that a specialist from Italy, Dr Lanzetta, would come to Sierra Leone to carry out surgeries on some amputees who had already been identified.
Mr Arturo pointed out that, “the Italian Cooperation under the supervision of Caritas and Bishop Biguzzi will ensure that residents of Bombali district and its environs make good use of the facilities at the hospital”.
He revealed that two million dollars worth of canned chicken meat, donated by the Italian government to Sierra Leone, would be distributed by Bishop Biguzzi.
