The Sierra Leone Premier League is the top professional football league in Sierra Leone. Founded in 1967, the league is sponsored by the Government of Sierra Leone, the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), which also controls it, and with the help of corporate institutions.
According to the league’s media team, East End Lions and Mighty Blackpool are the two biggest and most successful clubs. The season runs from March to July.
This year, eighteen (18) clubs will compete in the league in a one leg race to start on 23rd April 2021. The media committee said they “will be updating the public with contents of the SLPL 2021 season – fixtures, jingles, scores, interviews, among many others”.
The 18 teams that will compete in the league are: Anti-Drugs Strikers, Bai Bureh Warriors, Bo Rangers, Central Parade, Diamond Stars,
East End Lions, Freetown City FC, Eastern Tigers, Johansen FC, Kallon FC, Kamboi Eagles, Mighty Blackpool, Old Edwardians, Ports Authority,
RSLAF, Sierra Leone Police, SLIFA FC and Wusum Stars.
