The ongoing premier league, sponsored by Africell, continues this weekend in two venues.
In today’s encounter, Mount Aureol will host Golden Dragons of Magburuka at the National Stadium in Freetown. Mount Aureol need to win or draw the match at all cost if they want to still remain in the league, as a defeat for them will see them out of the premier league next league season.
On the other hand, Golden Dragons have nothing to lose in today’s match against their opponents. But they are coming for a win to make their record straight by defeating their opponents in both legs.
In tomorrow’s encounter, Wusum Stars will host Diamond Stars in Makeni in a thrilling encounter as both teams are going to show supremacy.
On the same day at the National Stadium, Old Edwardians will host Gem Stars of Tongo in a match that is expected to be exciting as both teams are fighting relegation.
Speaking to Awoko Sports, Old Edwardians’ head coach Junior Konneh said they had three more matches to go and as a team they only needed three vital points to maintain their position in the premier league.
They are expected to do so in tomorrow’s encounter, while Gem Stars have two remaining matches. A win for them in both matches will still see them relegated to the first division.
On Sunday, Central Parade who are also fighting for the championship will host Nepean Stars at the National Stadium. A win for the hosts will keep their hope alive for the championship while a draw or defeat will dash their hopes in the race.
