The Sierra Leone U-17 female team will play The Gambian U-17 side in the first leg of the Confederation of African Football, Preliminary rounds of the FIFA World Cup slated for January 21, 2012 in Banjul the Gambia.
Head Coach Hannah Williams has told Awoko Sports that the team is presently undergoing intensive training with 25 players at the football Academy and the final selection of 18 players that will make the trip will be made on Friday January 13, 2012.
Hannah Williams said that she is very confident that the girls are going to register their first victory in Banjul to increase their chances in the qualifying campaign. The C Licensed CAF and FIFA Hannah Williams said that she is doing everything possible to ensure that come next week Saturday they will create serious surprises against their opponents.
Meanwhile, the team is expected to depart on 18th January, 2012 to honour the weekend fixtures.
The World Governing body FIFA will release the fixtures for the subsequent rounds.
