The Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA) and its Executive Chairman, Brima Baluwa Koroma, have been awarded for excellent performance over the years by Kings Foundations International.  According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Reverend Beulah Michaels, the foundation has been in existence since 2014 empowering women and girls in skills training, and help fulfilling their potentials as Sierra Leoneans.

She said, “We create and support programs that directly improve the wellbeing and health of the deprived, excluded and vulnerable children and women in the communities.” The Reverend told the gathering that recently they have come to identify institutions and individuals that are contributing immensely to nation building, adding that as a foundation and nation as a whole such institutions and individuals behind them need to be encouraged.

Spearheading the program, Patricia Ganda underscored that their awards are not for sale but would be given to well deserving people and institutions in the country that are contributing greatly to nation building. Madam Ganda said the man in question: the Chief Finance Officer at Safecon Petroleum Limited, during his tenure took astute leadership roles in the company’s financial matters.

“He diligently served as the custodian of the fund and maintained the integrity of cash flow. And in a short period he developed and established accounting policies and procedures.”     Madam Ganda concluded by citing other achievements by Brima Baluwa Koroma, currently at the PRA, among which is PRA’s revenue growth of 54% from Le473 billion in 2018 to Le743 billion in 2019, and consistent and monthly petroleum price reviews.

Receiving the award from the CEO of King’s Foundation International, the Executive Director of PRA, Brima Baluwa Koroma, thanked God and appreciated his staff for such an award. He said he has been receiving different sets of awards, but is proud to have received this one, based on what the organisation stands for which is to change and impact people’s lives.

The PRA Boss said though they have increased the institution’s revenue generation, they are now targeting Le1 trillion as an agency for the first time in the history of the PRA, adding that as head of PRA, together his staff they have made the institution visible.
