Ports Authority football club over the weekend bounce back into the premier league title for the championship when they defeated their opponent Diamond Stars by three goals to one (3-1) at the National Stadium.
Ports Authority went into the match well focused to secured all the three vital points Morlai Sesay put Ports Authority in the lead within 30th minutes and five minutes later increased the score line to two goals.
After the first two goals, Ports Authority were on top of the situation as they dominated every department of the match and missed about three possible goals .
About some minutes later to the end of the first half, defender Mark Fish made it three goals before the end of the first half.
In the second segment of the match, Diamond Stars came back into the field well determined during the 55 minutes of play, Diamond Stars reduce the scored line to two goals margin from a defensive blunder .
After that goal, Diamond Stars went into the offensive looking for more goals but the rocky defence of Abduali Sesay (D-Cox) was able to stop the Diamond Stars attackers.
Ports Authority is now trapped in second position with 47 points with 24 games played so far with two games left
In the other encounter, Kallon FC defeated Golden Dragons by three goals to nil at the National stadium, Kaili Jalloh hat trick gave Kallon FC the much needed victory that took them into the top of league table with 48 points with two more games to go in the premier league.
Also in Bo, Blackpool suffered a serious upset when they went down by a goal to nil at the hand of Nepean Stars, one of the teams that is fighting relegation at the Coronation grounds in Bo
This particular defeat has created serious problem for Blackpool chances to win this year’s premier league which still has 43 points out of 23 games played so far .
While Nepean Stars now secured 21 points out of 23 matches played they are now in 12th position instead of their ordinary 13th position.
In the other encounter, Gem Stars who is in the bottom at the premier league and Golf Leopards on Friday played to a goalless draw at the National Stadium.
