Port Loko, SIERRA LEONE – Port Loko’s beloved entertainer, Foday Turay, known to fans as “Port Loko Boss,” is poised to make a significant musical debut with his upcoming single, “PADDY DEM,” scheduled for release on September 20th, 2023.
De Boss, widely regarded as a rising star in the Port Loko entertainment scene, recently made waves on social media, courtesy of Sierra Leonean Port Loko-based hitmaker SM De Editor. In a post that gained considerable attention, De Boss issued a direct challenge to Orbatheh from Makeni City and Sasqo from the nation’s capital.
“As a sensational emerging artist, ‘PADDY DEM’ represents my journey to showcase my talent. This song is a testament to my unwavering love for my fans in Port Loko and across the country. It’s a rallying cry to my loyal supporters and an invitation to new fans to join in and show their support,” the emerging celebrity shared with Awoko.
Before crossing paths with Editor’s Music, Turay was known for his work collecting garbage and performing at local events as a means of survival.
According to Editor’s Music management, the song will be available on major social media platforms, including Apple Music, TikTok, Facebook, and more, on the release date.
“We are planning significant collaborations with top superstars in the country to promote De Boss. This song marks the beginning of our efforts to introduce our new star and promote Port Loko as a whole. Our goal is to create opportunities for the less privileged, especially the elderly and those considered marginalized, in the entertainment sector, fostering inclusiveness in our society,” De Editor revealed.
Creating music with De Boss requires patience, given his unique mental status, as SM attested, saying, “I dedicate a lot of time to ensure everything goes smoothly. De Editor’s Music has been actively supporting various activities since 2018, such as our recent ‘Old Granny Contest’ (Port Loko vs. Kambia) held at Bamoi Luna.”
Fans of De Boss, who expressed their unwavering support in the comments section of his Facebook page, believe that he has the potential to outshine Sasqo and Orbatheh. They eagerly anticipate his new song as a significant milestone in his career.
From the humble beginnings of collecting garbage on the streets of Port Loko to becoming a local superstar, De Boss’s journey is nothing short of remarkable, leaving many in awe. AIM/9/9/2023
