Political parties agree on campaign schedules in Kailahun

As a swift response to forestall future political fracas in Constituency One in Kailahun, Luawa Chiefdom, all political parties have been asked to submit their campaign schedules to the District Security Committee.
This decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the newly appointed chief administrator, Boanie Bockarie, and was attended by Professor Sahr Gevao of  the SLPP, Lamin Vonjo Ngobeh of PMDC, Aruna Bangura of APC and Emmanuel Bockarie of NDA.
All the attendees signed and agreed to submit and abide by the campaign schedules.              The Local Unit Commander in Kailahun, Karifa Keitta, urged every political party to adhere to the campaign schedules when they would have been finalized as he would not want the police to be overstretched.
In his contribution the SLPP Kailahun chairman, Prof. Sahr Gavao, suggested that criminal and violent acts should be separated from party politics because most criminals use politics as a recipe to rob and violate the rights of peaceful citizens.
He said anyone caught for violence and other criminal acts should not be mistaken as SLPP and should be punished by law.
Prof. Sahr Gavao noted that, “Lamin Vonjo Ngobeh of the PMDC is my blood relation so I don’t want him to allow politics to breakup such ties”.
Lamin Vonjo Ngobeh acknowledged Prof. Gavao as a true brother who had been striving to resolve the dispute between the chiefdom speaker Bongre Ngobeh and himself.
Meanwhile, after the meeting the parliamentary aspirants of various political parties embraced themselves and later warned their supporters to eschew violence.
In another development, the PMDC is yet to relocate its Kailahun office to avoid further confrontation with the SLPP.
This was one of the issues that were discussed at the District Security Committee in which it was proposed that the chiefdom speaker and the PMDC executive in Kailahun halt all forms of political activities in the Ngobeh‘s compound where the PMDC is headquartered.
But Lamin Vonjo Ngobeh is still contesting the issue saying he would have to talk with his followers and that he is still looking for an office space.
