Detective Police Constable 10170 Abdul Mohamed Kamara attached to the Major Incident Support Team (MIST) at the Police Head Quarters in Freetown has testified on Thursday, 12th March at court No.1 in a fraud matter before Magistrate Steven Conteh.
In his testimony DPC 10170 Kamara told the court that on the 8th of January, 2009 they received an intelligence report intimating them about a group of people in Calaba Town who were engaged in extorting money from people with the hope of preparing a document for them that will help facilitate their travel abroad. He said that the police acted swiftly and were able to identify No.75c Main Motor Road, Calaba Town as the house that was used as an office by the 419ners.
When the Detective Police officers entered the house they discovered a room where they found the accused person Mr. Mustapha Fambuleh seating in a chair. The officers saw a file on the table that was filled with documents that were related to the information that was given to them. Mustapha Fambuleh was arrested, cautioned and questioned contemporaneously by two police officers. They then charged him on six counts for offences of Forgery.
