Inspector Sam-Sumana, Officer in-Charge Traffic Bo Police Station has explained to Awoko that the Police have launched a heavy a clean-up of the second City of Bo of all lawless drivers and bike riders.
The exercise which has begun will see the township swept off of all ‘unlicensed’ vehicles and Okadas, without the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority number plates and vehicles with foreign number plates.
“We are going to clean Bo City of all vehicles (Okadas) without number plates and vehicles with foreign plates” he said.
The exercise will also include arresting of these offenders on other traffic offence charges, the vigilant Inspector went on to establish.
The Inspector stated that “we have discovered that a good number of vehicles and Okadas ply this town unlicensed and without number plates.”
Most owners and riders of motor bikes and vehicles he explained deliberately refuse to have their vehicles licensed. The exercise which started on 1st September has already landed 32 drivers and riders in the net.
These offenders he averred “Are going to be charged to court.”
